Who We Are

First Strike Research is an independent financial research operation. We utilize a holistic approach in our research by combining numerous investigative disciplines to find and deliver facts to our readers and stakeholders. We leverage our experience to execute more in-depth investigations beyond just a spreadsheet and balance sheet review. We specialize in mispriced single-name equities, derivatives and other under-appreciated risks across capital markets.

We are veteran‑owned and operated, led by an investigator with a background in law enforcement. In an environment where mistakes could have real‑world consequences, attention to detail and rigorous verification were non‑negotiable. That same mentality now underpins our research: disciplined process, evidence‑driven conclusions, and zero tolerance for baseless assumptions.

30-50

Hours of research committed to our reports

We spend the time doing the research others don't. This requires longer man hours and manual research to find the facts.

10+

Years of experience

We have over a decade of experience in law enforcement and investigations; we leverage these skills and apply them to the financial sector.

NEVER

Any paid issue promotions, sponsored coverage, or conflicts of interest.

We don't allow external capital to influence our research. We remain neutral and report the facts.

What We Do

Investigative Equity Research

We approach each company like a case, not just a ticker. Every report is built from primary documents, corroborated sources, and a clear chain of reasoning from facts to thesis. We specialize in going past the “balance sheet” and into the parts of a business most shops barely touch. Instead of stopping at management narratives and top‑level KPIs, we investigate  line‑item by line‑item.

Risk-First Framework

Our work starts with downside: governance, incentives, capital structure, and operational fragility. We then size upside only after we understand how and where things can break.

Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT)

We systematically collect and analyze public records, litigation, regulatory actions, ownership webs, social media and other industry signals to surface risks and relationships that don't always materialize on slide decks.
